Is there anything harder than dragging yourself back to work after a vacation? It was difficult, but I made it. :)
The holidays were nice for my family and I. We spent Christmas Eve at Kevin's (my Step-brother-in-law) house. My father-in-law and all of my husbands siblings (and spouses and kids) were there so it was a rather large gathering. Kevin breeds coral and sea anemones in large salt water aquariums. He bought his wife Heather a couple of sea horses for Christmas and added them to the tanks. We're all hoping that the Spider Star he has doesn't want to eat them. :) This is the first Christmas that hubby and his family didn't have their Mom, so there were some tearful moments throughout the evening, I think that, overall, everyone enjoyed themselves though.
We spent Christmas day at my parents house. My children are their only grandkids so my parents spoil them mightily. My younger sister, brother in law, older sister and one of her friends were there as well. Emmy was happy because my older sister's friend agreed to play Barbies with her. I don't know which one of them had the most fun. LOL
New Years Eve we went to an open house at a neighbors house. They do a fireworks display every year. Not just a few cherry bombs and firecrackers, but the real shebang. So we spent some time watching the show before heading back to the house. After we rang in the new year, I logged into SL and joined Telc and Mir and a few others at the Red Wolf and rang in the new year with three other time zones.
New Year Day we had my FIL and a few friends over to play games and eat. We had Chili, Jalapeno-Cheddar Cornbread, Nachos, a veggie tray and Christmas cookies. YUMMMM!
Back to the grind. I actually have a class to teach tomorrow, hooray! I'm looking forward to being in the classroom again, even if it's just for a day.
Have a fabulous New Year. May it be filled with all good things!
