I'm In UR Head, Messing With UR Brain

I had a post on my LJ a while ago that talked about how men usually base their self worth on how well they provide financially. One of my co-workers found that post and read it last night. He came in this morning fussing at me because he kept wrestling with my point of view in his head all night long. He said he agreed 100% with what I wrote, but his man side kept arguing and saying "but that would mean I'm wrong". LOL That cracked me up.

He's considering going back into the military. One of the things that gives him pause is that he and his wife are trying to start a family, and the military could take him away from home for long periods of time. I asked him the question, "What do you think your wife and kids want more, your presence or your paycheck?".

Once again that messed with his head...he never really looked at it from that perspective. His only thought was that, as an officer, he'd be making enough money to support his family and give his wife the option to stay home with the kids. He said that, while most men do miss their families, supporting them that way is more important. Then I said "If that's the case, where did the song "Cat's In The Cradle" come from? Then he really wigged out, because he was thinking the same thing. Told me to get out of his head. LOL

Maybe there's a future for me with the psychic network. HAHAHA
