Another weekend come and gone. Whoever decided that workweeks should be five days and weekends only two should be shot. :)
I had a fairly nice, quiet weekend. Saturday we went to my parents house for a traditional St. Patrick's Day dinner. We ate corned beef and cabbage with potatoes and carrots. For dessert my mother made an irish creme flan that was simply incredible. YUM! I enjoyed spending time with my family.
Sunday we went to church and ran a few errands. We had a pizza and movie night. My Mom gave us a copy of Flushed Away so we watched it for the first time. That movie was hysterical. I especially loved the singing slugs...they were too funny. :)
I didn't spend a lot of time is SL over the weekend. Saturday night I was on in stealth mode. I have a friend who is really hurting and I wanted to provide my undivided attention while we talked. This friend lost their spouse to cancer a few years ago and has recently been fighting a debilitating illness. They really needed someone to talk to so I was on until 4am to offer support. My hugs and prayers go out to this friend...I'm here for you.
Sunday I was on for about 30 minutes while I waited for the pizza to arrive. Metal was in world so we chatted for a while. He has cut back on SL to spend more time with his family. He misses his friends but he's loving the time with his wife and kids. I think he has the right idea. :)
I was listening to the radio this morning on my way to work. America is entering it's 5th year fighting the war in Iraq. My thoughts and prayers are with the troops and their families. Whether you agree with the war or not, the soldiers representing our country need all the support we can give them. I'm proud to have such noble men and women reporesenting our country.
I have a class to teach so away I go.
Have a wonderful day!
