I hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving filled with good food, family and joy. We are going to my brother-in-laws house in Zephyrhills for the occasion. My husband's father is here from Georgia, and his stepdad and all his siblings will be gathering there. With his Mom's passing, we felt it was important to gather Stan's family for the holiday. I know the girls will have a ball running around with their cousins...it's been a while since the whole gang was together.
Our office is closing at 3:00 today and I'll be off the rest of the week....yay! I'm glad I have the time off, but it's going to be an emotionally draining weekend. Thanksgiving Day is going to be so difficult for the family. It's funny what memories stand out in your mind. Stan's Mom had a habit of burning the rolls every Thanksgiving...she always forgot they were in the oven until she smelled smoke. Stan and I were talking about the holiday, and he wondered who was going to burn the rolls this year. So we decided to burn a piece of toast in his Mom's honor every Thanksgiving...lol.
The viewing for Stan's mom is Friday evening at the funeral home. Her funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00am at Pasadena Community Church. The one good thing about a funeral is that the family can stop focusing on their Mom's death, and they can start focusing on living their lives again. Yes, we'll all grieve and we'll all have moments of pain, but our attention will be on the living again. It is such a relief to move forward.
