*Sigh*...Monday

The only bad part about a long weekend is that it is SO much harder to come into work on Monday!

We had a pretty good Thanksgiving. We went to my brother-in-laws house and spent the day with my husband's family. His Dad and step-mom were down from Georgia. We haven't sene them for six months or so...it was good having them there. It was hard on the family not having Mom there, but it helped to be together, reminiscing about her. During her last few weeks with us, my MIL developed a fondness for Cranberry ginger Ale...she called it a pinky. My other BIL poured all of us a pinky after dinner and we had a toast to Mom...it was a sweet moment.

Friday was the viewing. I stayed home with the little one because she was sick. My husband said there was a good turn out. My MIL was a neat lady, and she had made a lot of friends over the years. It was good to see her honored that way.

The funeral was Saturday. The service was very nice. My BIL has a beautiful singing voice. He sang Mom's favorite hymn (I'll Fly Away) as a tribute to her...it was very moving. After the service we went to Mom's house and hung out with the family. It was a healing time, and I think everyone enjoyed themselves despite the circumstances.

Sunday we went to my Mom's house for leftovers...my Mom is an AWESOME cook. Everything was soooo good. She spoils me rotten...sent a whole pumkin pie home with me. That is my favorite...I love it for breakfast :)

Happy Monday!
